Can you thin acrylic paint with rubbing alcohol?
You can thin water-based acrylic paint with isopropyl (rubbing alcohol). The recommended amount of alcohol you can use to dilute paint is up to 20%. The using of alcohol will accelerate drying and can result in uneven application.
Can you mix rubbing alcohol and paint?
Paint that is straight out of the tube or container will be thick and have little reaction with the alcohol. So wet you brush and mix it with the paint first. You might want to practice with the amount of water to use.
Will rubbing alcohol thin paint?
IPA(isopropyl alcohol/rubbing alcohol) is a good thinner for paints like Tamiya, whose own thinner is a mx of IPA and drying retarder.
